I’d been in the film industry for about a year, working at Pinewood Studios outside London. Then a special makeup effects shop needed help running its Los Angeles office (and carting around fake blood and rubber monsters on movie sets, as it turned out). So in 1994, this West Sussex gal moved to Hollywood.
